“Unity in Community” is the core of Farming 4 Hunger. This is where the community supports itself. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donations are tax deductible. Contributions in-kind will also be put to good use. This is where you can make an impact through local missions and outreach, to educate youth groups, and help those struggling in your community. Businesses, your support is not only tax-deductible but is also an investment in the future of your company. Organizations, you may have an older tractor or forklift, or maybe you have extra boxes or plastic bags that you can donate. Everyone pulling resources and working together to help our community is unity.
Our Growing Food Matters Initiative launched the Fall of 2018 and has been literally growing throughout Southern Maryland and beyond ever since. Farming4Hunger believes the relationship between healthy eating and healthy choices improves bodies, minds and children. Farming4Hunger offers hands-on support that teaches positive character traits. Students are motivated to work together and see collaboration as a benefit for the collective good.
Tower Gardens are a vertical, aeroponic gardening system that combines 21-st Century technology and project-based learning. They are a soil-less garden that
grows a variety of herbs, lettuces and flowering plants. Tower Gardens are used to help students, families and communities understand the importance of sustainable food sources. They provide healthy food options that build stronger bodies and healthier minds. Students integrate the Tower Garden into their academic learning. They are able to harvest what they’ve planted while learning more about Math, Science, Reading and Social Studies.
Businesses can help underwrite some of our costs for special events, such as A Taste of the Farm, the Fall Festival and more. Please contact us for more information!
